Analyzing micromachining errors in EDM of Inconel 600 using various biodegradable dielectrics

Abstract Inconel 600 is a Ni-based superalloy having exclusive properties like high strength and stability in harsh conditions. However, its accurate machining challenging via conventional cutting methodologies. As result, the use of electric discharge common precisely. But intrinsic issue overcut associated with traditional EDM limits appreciation alloy. Moreover, dielectric oil used releases hazardous fumes gases that put operator’s health at risk. Therefore, this study, six different biodegradable dielectrics have been investigated for their potential controlling dimensional overcut, which yet to be evaluated thoroughly. The performance (canola, amla, olive, sunflower, coconut, mustard oil) against four types electrode materials has using full factorial design 600. Experimental findings are analyzed statistical tests optical/scanning electron microscopic evidence. experimental results indicated canola yield smallest overcut. combination sunflower copper proved as second premier case reduce Compared conventionally kerosene oil, (canola sunflower) display 63% 1.2-folds reduction
